The log type lodge looked cozy enough with little cabins surrounding it. We settled into our cabin. It was comfortable for a fishing cabin and we were there to ice-fish, most of my brother's wedding party and myself. There was a kitchen and a living room. We each had a twin bed in the bedrooms. We shared the TV in the living room, so I can't say we were "roughing it."
The food was wonderful and filling. We were on the meal plan we I recommend. You order off the menu anything you want. The next day were we transported to the fish house. We had a modern, heated house with six holes pre-set for fishing. All the poles and bait were ready to go by our guides. We caught a lot of walleye and enjoyed every minute of it.
When we got back for dinner, the fish that we caught could be frozen by the staff our served as part of our dinner. They bring the fish right over to your table. This is a great place to escape with the guys. It's laid back and a lot of fun. I guess my reservations about ice-fishing are put to rest, because I want to go back again next year and catch the big one this time.

Alternate Assignment
Review:
We arrive at the 4th floor of The Mall of America, where Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy is located. There is a small restaurant attached outside the theater, we decide to arrive early and dine inside the theater. I thought we would have a table for two, this was the only disappointing part of the evening, they sit you with others, you don’t have that choice of sitting alone. Other than that, the show was great.
Tom Wilson mixed comedy with song and storytelling. Of course my favorite was his impression of Biff from Back to the Future. He should be good at this, as he played the part of Biff, in the Back to the Future movies. His jokes about his family and life in general were entertaining and very clean cut. He had a mid-western appeal to his work. You don’t see that often, in comedians these days. This show was filled with his energy and his great talent also as a musician.
The food was great, the company at our table was refreshing and all in all, for 15.00 each, plus our food bill; I would say, we had an entertaining evening. I would recommend people buy his CD or go see him in person.

Explode the Moment
It is near Thanksgiving break and my phone rings. I am already home for break, yet the call is from a girl that I have had a crush on since my freshman year. She wants me to come back to my prairie, cow town for a party. I have nothing to do in my even smaller, prairie, cow town where I live, so of course, I go back. Is it destiny or choice? What if I had not chosen to go back? You see there would be girls there and they would have that flirty attitude, that fun, full of life giggle that I enjoyed. I was looking forward to maybe this night being different and one of these girls looking at me as more than a friend. I was not like the jock guys who did not have to use more than two syllable words in their vocabulary and for some reason, they still would score on the ballfield and in the bedroom. So of course, I drove back. At the house party, the usual loud music, the laughter of the girls and the token ball players were present. There also was a blond, beautiful girl, one of those you see in commercials, but not the type of woman who ever talks to me. She was headed my way and was looking right at me.

The song Daniel by Elton John and lyrics by Bernie Taupin
Daniel

Daniel
Music: Elton John
Lyrics: Bernie Taupin
Daniel is travelling tonight on a plane
I can see the red tail lights heading for Spain
Oh and I can see Daniel waving goodbye
God it looks like Daniel, must be the clouds in my eyes
They say Spain is pretty though I've never been
Well Daniel says it's the best place that he's ever seen
Oh and he should know, he's been there enough
Lord I miss Daniel, oh I miss him so much
Daniel my brother you are older than me
Do you still feel the pain of the scars that won't heal
Your eyes have died but you see more than I
Daniel you're a star in the face of the sky
Daniel is travelling tonight on a plane
I can see the red tail lights heading for Spain
Oh and I can see Daniel waving goodbye
God it looks like Daniel, must be the clouds in my eyes
Oh God it looks like Daniel, must be the clouds in my eyes
This song has the best lyrics, it is about a Vietnam Vet who loses his eyesight in the war.
The metaphor Daniel, you're a star in the face of the sky is so powerful. It shows how much his brother meant to him, even if America didn't think he was a star during those times. (it is also personfication to turn his brother into a star)
Must be the clouds in my eyes, to me is the brother's tears. (metaphor)
It has so many hidden meanings and to me this is good writing and made for an excellent song.
I used to think that Daniel died in the war and the red tail lights in Spain was the bringing back of the caskets, you can look at this song and take it to mean whatever it does for you if you have lost someone in your life and the songwriter really states the pain of that person being gone in this song.
